Born in the ashes of the “pandemic,” COVID, George Floyd, No TV, Zoom singing, contact tracing, Cuomo repeatedly saying “ventila-tors,” Poloncarz’s hair growing like Steve from Stranger Things while singing Goo Goo Dolls, The Tryin Times was created to give others a place to feel a dose of raw truth and reality. An example of the reality that though we are shaped and molded constantly by these unseen entities and advertisement, ruled by celebrity gods of whom we worship because they might look or sound like us, but if we were ever trapped in a burning building with them they’d soon leave us to die before going in to save us. The reality that we worship other humans, we are mind controlled by other humans, and we are, quite possibly, being fooled at at a scale never seen before by other humans. That shit is kinda dark. But here at the Tryin Times, we’ve already gone through the dark night of the soul. We are not afraid to see what happens in the dark because we can speak demon. We don’t wish to, and don’t want to, because we know who we become when the voices get too loud. That’s ok. That’s what it means to be human. Chasing the truth and not being afraid to be wrong, misled, incorrect, afraid, vulnerable, and honest with ourselves and one another. The Tryin Times was born in a period of darkness, to create a little light when I recognized that nobody is going to come save you. The government, the people on TV, your own family and friends. It’s up to YOU to decide where you want your life to go. That shit is kinda dark. But here at the Tryin Times, we tell those stories, the stories we feel and see, that go beyond corporate owned media, that go beyond AI controlled algorithms, that don’t battle for space in the minds of others because occupying space it not our goal. Opening it is. So let’s get to work.
