State of Love and Trust – Hang in There

Well, I was hoping that The Tryin Times was going to be a dusty old blog that wouldn’t ever need another post… but then Mother Nature struck us with the worst storm of our lifetime. Shit’s weird, so I wanted to write this to bring some faith and hope to anyone out there in need of some juice.

The Tryin Times is dedicated to helping others overcome the storm, so let’s take a minute to celebrate what’s really happening, in the light.

The Darkness Cometh.

We have seen this before, but never like this. This storm brought destruction and fear and darkness to a town not afraid of any storm. It’s ok to be afraid, but not for long. Fear breeds weakness, and in times like these, weakness can get you killed. Anyone who’s watched Bear Grylls or Survivorman may know some survival secrets, but when the FEAR and DARKNESS rolls over, minds can go crazy, and as we’ve seen some will fear so much so that they will steal and loot. Some are stealing because they need to, to survive.

It goes to show you how left out some folk really are. I pray that these people find safety and solace from the dark storms upon us, and that in the future people’s lives will be valued in ALL areas.

Rising Tide

As people are beginning to creep out of their homes, they will find an army of utility workers, plowers, police officers and EMTs who are dedicating their lives to saving others. Seeing photos of Sheriffs on snowmobiles, seeing messages of hope and neighbors opening their doors for others on social media provides evidence that even in the darkest storms, love prevails. Fear of stores not being open, fear of supply chains, fear of tomorrows flood. This is a rising tide that requires extreme strength, fortitude, togetherness, and LOVE.

No matter how much fear, snow, or darkness comes over a city, love prevails. Love will prevail.

Gratitude.

I am so grateful that there are so many amazing souls out there ready and willing to lend a hand to a stranger. It gives me hope. I am grateful that electricians come from far and wide to be here to protect strangers. It gives me hope. I am grateful that (for now) all of my friends and family are safe. It gives me hope. I am grateful for technology that allows me to see and speak with my friends and family. It gives me hope. I am grateful that winter comes 1 time a year, and the sun always comes up, it gives me hope. I will not let my guard down, but I will remain steadfast and grateful through any Trying Time.

Pray.

I pray. I pray how I pray. I won’t tell you how to, but I will tell you, after 6 hours or so of boiling water in the pitch black on another planet, I prayed. I was laying face down praying for the lord to protect us and this city. I prayed that people will be safe and warm. I prayed that they would find peace and comfort and safety. The lights came on mid prayer and have been on since.

Not all have found this safe warmth unfortunately. Not every prayer was answered, but so far, mine were, and that is evidence enough for me to not stop praying for others.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”PSALM 23:4

“The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in draught, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”  ~ Isaiah 58:11 NKJV

“The LORD will always guide you and satisfy your needs even when you may be going through hard times.  God will deliver the needy who cry out and those who are afflicted with no one to help.” ~ Psalm 72:12 KJV

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”  ~ 1 John 5:14 NJKV

“Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful.  The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.” ~Psalm116:5-6 NKJV

Leaders. Rise. It is OUR TIME TO JOIN THE FIGHT. No more hiding. If you need any more evidence we are in a spiritual battle, keep hiding. RISE for your brothers and sisters and show the light.

NEVER GIVE UP.

My last message for today. Don’t ever give up. Don’t give up on your self. Don’t give up on your loved ones. Don’t give up on God. NEVER GIVE UP.

Love Ya’ll. Hang the fuck in there. Reach out if you need to talk
