Monotony & God Don’t Go Together

There’s a few different things I’ve thought of writing since the last time I posted. Since there are no full content calendar rules here at The Trying Times, I’m going to go ahead and speak on a few different things probably in the next couple days, but one of which is my frustration with the return to monotony.

One thing that has frustrated me vividly is the return to monotony. I am truly uninspired by the return to monotony. Since the spawn of 2020, we have experienced an onslaught of waves unlike any of my lifetime. Virus, Inequality, Brutality, Murder, Instability, Political warfare, Espionage warfare, Pedophilia, Wayfair, just about anything you could imagine, we’ve been enlightened to.

The strangest part about all of 2020 for me, is wondering why I felt so comfortable during the most tangled web of confusion in the external of my mind that I’ve ever experienced?

So much lack of control seemed to level the playing field a bit. Seemed to shock the masses so much that it took away a bit of control. Took a bit of power to see those two rich white folk get their guns taken. Took a bit of power to see Ghilane Maxwell get arrested. Felt good to see Kanye speak profound truths. Seemed like humanity was facing some internal music. Felt like karma was taking its toll.

I don’t want to say I’m disappointed in humanity, but the effort and response has been somewhat lackluster. It almost seems as though people want to return to the world they had before. I for one felt as though this meant a world that will never be the same. Sure, there are still protests in the streets, but there are also secret police. Sure, people are being questioned on pedophilia, but the news isn’t showing it. Sure, sports are back on TV, but the players can’t see their families.

People enjoy monotony.
People strive for monotony.
Until they achieve monotony.

I for one, don’t really enjoy monotony.

So my pledge to myself this week is to continue pledging to commit my energy to myself, and clock into myself a few times and write a few pieces and spend time in my creative space. The overall return to monotony, and the attempt to return to monotony will proceed, but understanding that I can continue my own path with adjustments and freedoms presented to myself in an optimistic manner will also.

My hopes are to maintain the strength and energy needed to be able to support myself and my loved ones, and also help others see that God is the most powerful, and will help you through anything if you give up your power to his.

I will continue to pray to God the way I prayed when I had no power during quarantine. Whether or not the plate my day gives me is good or bad I will attempt to continue to beg for mercy with the same unknown that I found during March and April, when none of us knew what was going on.

I do not wish to live in monotony. So I will pray to God for a life worth living. I will pray as well for anyone reading today that they keep their life full of abundance and joy and wonder, and free from the trap of monotony.

And in honor of my rejection of monotony, here’s a bit of Jim Morrison yelping at people Live at the Dinner Key Auditorium in Miami 1969, that they need to reject monotony lol

You’re all a bunch of fucking idiots. Let people tell you what you’re going to do; let people push you around. How long do you think it’s gonna last? How long are you gonna let it go on? How long are you gonna let them push you around? How long? Maybe you like it, maybe you like being pushed around. Maybe you love it, maybe you love getting your face stuck in the shit. C’mon. You love it, don’t you. You love it. You’re all a bunch of slaves, letting everybody push you around. What are you going to do about it? What are you gonna do about it? What are you gonna do about it? What are you gonna do about it? What are you gonna do about it? What are you gonna do about it? What are you gonna do?
